porc funeral

My porc was laying on the bottom of the tank when i got home from work. He was alive but all the scales on his back were gone and he was breathing really heavy..I lifted him up off the ground to see if he would swim again but he dropped right to the bottom. So i didnt want to wake up in the morning with a rotton puffer so i put him out of his misery :( so a hundred dollars($35 puffer $70 for the shark) down the tubes in 6 or 7 months...i guess thats not bad for my first saltwater tank. Im not saying that its good to kill fish..

im afraid to put my powerhead on now, i dont wanna lose my dwarf lion or trigger..If i put the coneshaped thing that it came with over the intake it will still suck it in at the same speed so i gotta find that foam that someone was talking about...

Do a search for Maxijet intake covers or something like that. I found em somewhere. If you have no luck let me know and I'll try to dig up the link for you.

you can always get the foam sponges at Wal-Mart in the garden center . they are for pond filters and work the same as the foam that come with the power heads for skimmers. will have to cut to size needed. :happyfish

Moto757, dont start the "tank size" war with CDubbs, they already tried that when we found out his 10" bamboo died. Its all in 55 by the way.

Cdubbs, you can put a bioball on the bottom of the powerhead if you have one, they don't affect the flow too bad. Remember flow=good.

Hang in there. We all go through rough stretches
yes there is no easy road to getting into this hobby. Just take it slow and don't get discouraged, and if all else fails try damsels. I'm pretty sure they're immortal...(except when they get eaten)
