our porcelain crab moulted last night and his claws aren't looking good. his left lower pincer is twisted and the entire right claw is bent the wrong way. they are filter feeders and it doens't appear to affect his mobility so i think he will make it but i'd like to know what happened.
i read iodine is important for invert moulting. i have no idea what my iodine levels are nor its source. my other levels are all great with the exception of nitrate which is at about 10ppm. we did have a problem with the heater through the night and the tank temp dropped down to 75 or 76 but i don't know if that would have caused this. perhaps the hermits were bugging him. dunno.
any thoughts?
