porcupine puffer question

i am interested in getting a porcupine puffer. i have read and talked to many sources and about it and it seems that 50% of them tell me that they are aggressive but will be fine as long as two things happen: 1. they arent provoked, meaning they are in a tank with mainly passive, peaceful fish(which it would be in my tank) and 2. that it never felt overcrowded, it would make only the fourth fish in my 60 gallon and i dont plan to add many more, probably one more tops.
the other 50% of people tell me horror stories. he will kill any fish smaller than him. i have a brittle star and a coral banded shrimp. people have said he will gladly eat both of those.
i really want to add a porcupine puffer to my tank, but not if it means him eating everything that moves. please help out, because if the advice that the first half of the people gave me is true, then i think i would be fine. please help!!! thanks.

They will kill any fish significantly smaller than it. Also they do eat inverts. And your tank is way to small for a porcupine puffer.

it is ture that they will eat inverts, so your star and shrimp may not make it.
your tank is too small, but might be ok in there for as a temp basis.
killing any smaller fish isn't quite correct. My LFS has one with several other fish in a display. He's about 6 inches and there are several other fish that are smaller then him. From damsels to clowns, he hasn't messed with any of them. I would say it might also be a case by case thing. Some may not get along with smaller fish. I do know that porcupine puffers enjoy other tank mates, they will be happy swimming with them.
