Port Jacksons

A friend of mine just bought two of these. They are awesome looking sharks. Not much movement from them though. They resemble the Horn in every way but color. Oh, they are expensive as ****, too. Any other experience with these in here?

I've got one in a 320 gallon tank. Mine is very active almost swims around as much as a leopard shark "almost". He's about a foot long. I've had him about 9 or 10 months. Very cool shark. Seems to be very hardy. He over came a serious eye infection with no problems. I feed him silversides, krill, and some squid.

Glad to hear you guys are having success with these. The two my friend has have the same markings, but one is a much lighter gray. His spend most of their time together in the corner looking out the tank. They love to be hand fed though. He paid $450 for one and $180 for the other.

I just got my horn shark about 2 weeks ago. I could not resist him when I saw him. He is about a foot long and just massively thick. He is eating shrimp chunks very well but like everyone else he just kinda sitts around under a rock. He will get him moments about every 5 minutes and swimms all over until he has found a spott to chill in he fill comfortable in. Someone post some pics of theirs.

I have no idea why ya'll are paying so much. I only paid about 169 for mine at Dallas North Aquarium. Is there anything I can do to make him swim more?

People are paying so much because these dealers out here are ripping us off. They feel that they have rare breeds and they can charge those prices. I had a guy in Kentucky this weekend try to charge me 375 for a leopard and 280 for a Horn. I told him he had to be the craziest MF in the world.

Can't ya'll order them or is that just to risky. I have never done that but my fish guy orders everything a keeps them for several weeks to make sure they are ok. If you have any pics of your please send them. Mine in a different color then the port jackson but it has the same profile. What are ya'll feeding yours and how long have you had them.

That is awsome. How do you put the pics on there. I have a digital with pics of my tank but all we ever do is print photos. Can you maybe walk me thru it some time. I would greatly appreciate. I can take a pic of all my sharks, the lion, wrasse, and maybe the eels if I can get them out. What else do you have in your tank and what size is it?

Joe,
Go to the photography section, ryebread has a post to walk you through. He's the expert. The tank is 320 gallons, there are 5 green chromis and a golden moray. I expect the pj to get about 3.5 feet. He doesn't bother the chromis "yet"

All my starter fish are gone except for 2 domino damsels. All the others just dissapeared over time. The ones in there now are very mean so I don't think they will have a problem. When I feed everyone the damsels will bite the rod when it gets in the area. Very mean MF's. Is that all that is in your tank? I hope not or I am very over stocked. My fish guy says I'm fine but o'well. I will try to get some pics tonight.
