Portable Generators

Anyone have on? In light of the unfortunate circumstances over East I may have to get one just in case. Home Depot has them for around 400 to 500 dollars. Anyone know of a better place to get one?

Bought one at Lowe's for $400. Runs both of my tanks without a problem. A VERY good investment if power is an issue in your area.

A word of advice on the cheap ones, you need to check the harmonic distortion on the generator. If it is high, you get fluctuations in current and can burn up electric motors on refrigerators, freezers, etc...
Just some advice given to me by an electrician friend.
Coleman is a good example of a cheap one with this problem.

If the power is out she will not mind. maybe even run a cord next door for her fan and a light. Do run it on the porch or patio.

For some reason, Home Depot along with all the other big stores like that, have them on sale every fall pretty decently. All home depot had last night was one for 600... ouch.
