Possible Disease on Puffer?

We own a small puffer. He is about 3 inches long and is an active little bugger.
About a month ago a small growth appeared just under his chin, like where a beard would be. It was only about the size of a pen tip. It stayed that size for about 3 weeks. In the past week, however, it grew to about the size of this "0" if you know what i mean. Its about 4x the size it started as.
The growth kinda has the appearance of a wart.
Any ideas on what it is, or how to get rid of it? Im not sure if it is a fungus growth, or possibly a small tumor. I figured if anyone knew, they would hang out here. I thought id try the true experts first before i went to the local fish store.
Thanks in advance for help!

Actually, we do have a disease specialist on this BB, TerryB.
He can mostly be found in the Disease Forum, however. So,I'm going to move your thread over to that Forum.

Hi Terry I am bumping this up. .... I also have the same problem with a small pufferfish....it resembles a wart and is symmetrical and I have noticed some growth on it the past week. I got him about 3 weeks ago and refuses to eat. All of the other fish I got with him are doing great and eating well. He has NEVER puffed even when my large sfe swims by him. My water parameters are the following
150 gallon fish only (puffer, clown, blenny, sfe)
0-ammonia
0-nitrates
0-nitrites
1.026 - specific gravity (refractometer)
