Possible disease w/ my tang

Lately I've been noticing small brown spots on my powder blue tang. I've looked through my books and haven't seen anything that resembles it. It looks like small brown spots that are relatively lighter in the middle toward the belly and anal fin. I can't figure it out. There's about a half dozen of them and they're about 1mm in diameter. He's eating well and doesn't show signs of stress. I've had him for over a year now and I bought him at approximately 5 inches. Is he maybe just getting old?

Does it look like ich, only dark color? Are the spots skin discoloration, or do is it like something attached to the fish's skin?

I've dealt with ich before and this is nothing like it. It doesn't seem to cause him discomfort. It looks like tiny discolorations under the skin.

Yes, I know its not ich, I was thinking more like black ich, which looks very similiar to ich, only it is black.

I won't worry about it too much. The fish seems to be fine. I think I'll improve his diet and see if that helps. I usually feed brine shrimp with zoe and seaweed selects w/ occassional flake food. I'll just feed him more frequently w/ more variety and maybe he'll look better. If not he'll be really well fed.
