Possible Ich

There is a white thing on my new sixline but I'm not sure it's ich. I've had ich a few times before in another tank, so I know what it looks like and this seems different. There is a single object, about 2-3mm long on the body behind the fin. It's danlging off the body. I can see it flap around when the fish swims. It's attached only and one end and just hangs off. The fish is behaving normally and is eating well. Any ideas?
PS. The fish is in my refugium fattening up on pods. There are some flatworms and things in there too. Are any of those parasitic?

Yes, it could be a single parasite, such as a flatworm. I'd suggest moving the fish to a QT for observation and if this develops into a problem, you can treat it appropriately.

Thanks Beth. I just checked a bit ago and the thing has already come off (and it wasn't there last night, and ~12 hours would be too short a gestation for ich, right?). The QT tank is ready so I'll keep an eye on him.
