May sound funny but one of the ways I have cut plastic before is with a soldering gun. Use the flat tip, get it up to temp and it should roll right through it. Dont breath the smoke.

Is it an acrylic sump??? Router with a straight bit would produce a clean cut.
good call...one tool i don't own is a router, so it never crossed my mind.
OK. I do need the lip for support of the top.
So on the making a new minisump so that it would fit inside the main sump without removing the lips.
Regal plastic will precut 1/4" acrylic into dimensions preorder.
May I ask what sizes should I ask them to cut? The number is in inch.
Thanks so much

Yes will give you the cleanest cut... You can also use the same tooling setup if you get pieces precut and they leave teeth marks from the blade, you use this setup to prep for clean glue joints.
Before you put anything in motion, unless your really experienced with acrylic and the gluing process, I would honestly fill it with water and leak test a min of 24hrs.......Any pics of the new sump? A good close up of the glue joint......Even as much acrylic work as I've done nothing gets installed and fired and left unless it's been leak tested for a min of 24hrs....Sometimes leaks don't rear their nasty heads right away......I even like to mark the water line and watch it for a couple days looking for the slightest seepage.....Plus it gives you a chance to see how full you can make it before you start to see deflection in the piece.......
Bottom line....Peace of mind water test it for 24hrs!!!!!!
