I just started a 2.5 gallon pico tank and am looking for ideas. the tank is a standard 2.5 all glass aquarium with a fluval 1 in tank filter. the filter creates enough flow to not need a powerhead so far. the fluval pushes 50 gallons an hour which in theory seem to be enough. lighting is going to be coralife 9'' 10k w/ true actinic.
the tank is going to be stocked with 2 #'s of LS and 3-4 #'s of LR. the coral in the tank will be a mix of mushrooms, ricordea, green stars, and other misc. any ideas are welcome...
lets see yours

the picotope is definitely way better than that cheap lookin toms deco3... glass>plastic.
seen some picotopes with a ridiculous amount of money dumped into them.. some even run LED lighting lol..

I could go crazy with this pico. I am wanting a canister filter for it instead of the Fluval. Is the Fluval filter good enough for the pico? It is rated for a 5 gallon. I just saw one in the local LFS that ran this exact system and it has been going for roughly 3 to 5 months.

I replaced the filter that was on there with a Elite Hush 5. Every time the power hiccupped, the filterwouldshut off. It was also a little noisy. I really like this new one. It seems enough for a pico and is hosting a lovely little angler. He's in the picture but difficult to see.
