I've only got a FOWLR but I'm intrigued by the sun coral. From what I've read, I'm pretty sure one of the advantages (or disadvantages as many may argue) is that it doesn't need strong lighting. The downside is that you have to be diligent with your spot feeding because of this. There was a pretty good thread about this a month or so ago. Someone - sorry I can't remember who - gave some good suggestions on how to feed the coral using an old soda bottle. hope this helps. And keep posting pictures. i love seeing these beauts.
One question for those who do have sun corals: How long do the polyps stay open? i've heard its mostly at feeding time, but does that mean you only get to enjoy looking at them for a few minutes? Do they stay open for a bit longer after feeding time?

Here is the black one I HAD, to much maintanance so I gave it away.
None of the colors are photoshopped, that's just how they came out. Not sure why, except maybe the lighting was better on some.

Oh that black is neat looking!!
Here is mine - I paid $30 for it from an individual. Oceana said it looks bad, so I am nursing it back. Trying to feed it daily.
This picture was taken when I first got him. I will post another when I feed it later and get some better pictures. He is opening up much better since I used the bowl trick.

Sun corals don't need light, thats why they have to bed fed so much. I have MH lighting and the coral doesn't care. The downside to that is it really makes your water quality go down. Mine can down a whole cube of mysis in one feeding. I really like mine, but i might get rid of it once i start getting SPS corals.
