Potty Trained Tangs?

Ok, thought you guys would think this is amusing. We bought a lemon mimic tang & purple tang at the same time. Believe it or not, they are buddies and swim around together a lot. Anyway, as I watched the new additions, I witnessed something that made me laugh. The lemon mimic will swim to the left side of the tank to poop. In the beginning, he would do it by the pump, thus causing it to be 'broadcast' everywhere (nasty!). Now he justs goes to the left side and not necessarily up by the pump. He rarely goes anywhere else. The purple has started to do the same, but not necessarily all the time.
Kinda funny, huh?!

Maybe you could babysit HFN2K's snails for awhile and get them trained as well

Hmm... how many other people here have fish that crap in the same place? My blenny seems to always take a dump in the back left side of the tank, this area has the least current, and it always builds up there!

Get a bit more current there...that's probably why they're doing it...so that they're not..."spitting in the wind" Were I a fish, I'd find the deadest spot in the tank to potty too. (I have no idea if any of this is factual, just thoughts lol But if you do increase the water flow there, at least you won't be as inclined to notice it.)
Not that it really matters with a tang, nasty little poopers that they are...

We have a lawnmower blenny that makes a show of it. He lives under the rock with just his head sticking out most of the time, but once a day in the evening he swims right smack dab in the middle of the tank, does his business, then goes back under the rock. It makes great dinner conversation.

please do. it's disgusting. i feel like the guy who walks behind the elephant at the circus. the poop is starting to deteriorate. but i still can't get over the fact that my snail released semen(cleaner language for you beth)into my tank. and this is no small snail, he's huge. he's like 6 inches. and it kept going and going. i thought he was smoking at first. but now finding out he was releasing sperm disgusts me. i hafta stick my hand in there....ewwwww.

Musipilot our lawnmower blenny does the same thing. Tonight he got a lil bolder and did his business on the hermit crabs (they were the only thing in the middle of the tank at the time} but he is always fallowing us around the tank and letting us know when he has to go.
