Powder Blue Tang and Yellow Tang?

Question............Would I be able to pair up a powder blue tang and a yellow tang in the same tank? Or a powder blue tang and a fox face? I definately want a powder blue tang but know that they are very fragile and I want to pair it up with the least stressfull mate. Any advice would be great. Thanks,

depends on what you mean by pair up? if you mean that they can coexist in the same tank, then yes. what size tank would this be in?

As long as the tank is bigger than 125g (6' long) then yes, it should work ok. Just be sure to add the powder blue first. Yellow tangs could get somewhat aggressive if they're in the tank first.

Well, you can't really have either in that size tank, they both need much more room to swim, and yellow tangs get really territorial when in cramped quarters. Powder blues are sensitive and that small of a tank could cause it to stress a lot and have trouble.

well one mroe question, totally off topic of tangs. I have a long tenacle anemone and last night I did a water change and after the water change the anemone was "bloated" and started to drift with the water. He was starting to become clear and his tenacle were pretty clear and swollen. What should I do?

anenomes will sometimes inflate and deflate. when they deflate they can look like a pile of mucous for a day or so, but then they will come reinflate bigger and prettier than before. that is how they expell waste. however, i dont think that is whats happening in your case. it sounds stressed, and if it is becoming clear, that is signs of bleaching from light starvation.
so what lights are you running and what are your water readings?

PH is about a 6-7
Alk is about an 11dkH
Temp is 78
I just put the new 10000K lights in within the last few days.

I thnk saltn00b was referring to what type of light are you using....PC, VHO, T-5, MH.....I believe anenome's need a pretty good light source...

Anemones won't survive long under PC lighting, they need a fair amount of T-5 or MH.

wow.....So I need more intense lighting............where should I go to buy these? Local pet staore just carries the hagen Lights such as the marine glo and power glos...........

T-8 wont cut it all.
12" bulb for a 60g tank?
how long is the tank???
look into MH or T-5. i suggest T-5 for your tank. look into Tek or Aquactinic brands.

that could be the problem as well as changing the light source is stressful to them..and can also cuse bleeching
