power compact or metal halide?i need suggestions

What you you recommend for my 125 gal tank, right now I have some shrooms and polyps, but i want to start keeping some of the eaiser type corals to start with. What light will work for me .Im really intrested in the csl pc lights just for the cost factor, but I have heard that metal halide is really the way to go.Does it really matter as long as you have some type of good light?I was talking to the lfs guy and was asking him about the recommended watts per gallon had he said that it wasnt really that improtant or accurate ,that it was the amout of useful lumens that you had penertrating the water.Im confused on which route to take.all advice will be appreciated. Thanks

if you have the money go mh with supplemental for dawn dusk. mh focus more on one point and get all the light were it needs to go. i have pc and i am upgrading to mh because its frustrating when you see a gorgeous coral and you cant bring it home. alot of people go with mh and vho atinics. i have now a mh's and pc's actinic. we will see when it comes in. hth mh has a better spectrum for natural daylight.
