I am currently running two powerheads in my 35 hex.. I have the air tube vith venturi valve hooked up to one of them... Can I do away with it ? It is misting the bulbs on my power compact ... Will I have enough oxogen in the tank without it...

Yes you can.
Many saltwater hobbyist have powerheads running without the venturi sucking and blasting air.
Makes a mess as you said.
Point one toward the surface for "rippling" agitation. Another powerhead down deep pointing towards the surface in a hex tank works pretty good at moving water from the tank bottom to the top as well.
See ya

You should also make sure that your inputs to the tank are creating some surface agitation. In other words, don't fully submerge them.

i too have a powerhead. i din't connect the air tube for i was told it was for flow and it also makes one big mess. my ph seems to be doing fine except fot one mishap where it sucked up my condi and killed it. i have since located my ph where i get better flow and hopefully no chance of losing another condi
