Power head ... needed?

I'm running a 24x12x12 - 25 Gallon tank
Fluval 204
2 Power Glo 15W lights
100W heater
40lbs of LS and 15lbs of LR (Adding more LR next week)
Is a powerhead necessary? is there an advantage?
Anything else I should think of?

Flow is essential in a reef aquarium. It also helps cutback algae and diatoms as well, the flow makes it harder for them to get started growing. I believe fish like it as well, afterall, the ocean isn't just calm.

I would go with two Maxi-Jet 600s in your tank, or maybe just two 400s. Do you have a skimmer?

flow is xtremely important, you wanna have at least 15x turnover of water per hour.without this reef will not be succesful. maxi jets are the way to go!!

A skimmer isn't absolutely necessary on any size tank, but it does help a great deal.
