Power heads. which ones are trash??

I was wonder which power heads i should stay away from. Also what is the quietest one on the market??

Now, all i run are maxi-jets. I think they are very quite, durable, inexpensive and run very cool. I also have had a whisper PH and they are ok i guess but tend to vibrate. I've also heard that rio's are unreliable and loud, although i've never owned one. HTH

maxi jets huh would my lfs carry those?

Maybe. Around here, all LFS are different and all carry different name brand equiptment. I'd say give them a call and ask.

Well i just called and got there answering machine.
So how much to these Maxi-jets cost?

Anyone ever used Hagen powerheads..... Good,Bad? Got an 802 for 30 bucks brand new. It seems to do the job, just curious about long run.

I've got two hagen 402's and a maxijet. The tanks only been up for a couple months so I don't know about the long haul. They are quiet. The only drawback that I can see is the fact that the Hagens are slightly bigger. So far I'm happy with them.

You can get Maxi jets on the net for a good price... I used Rio's before and they are noisy and don't like to restart... get the Maxi's...
