power outage question

well thats hard to say, temp wont be a probably but water movement will. i wouldnt let my tank go any more than 1 hour stagnant when we have power outages here. get some battery operated airpumps or get the generator.

thanks to everyone for the advice. i did go ahead and get the generator, ill have to check into the battery operated bubble box. well charley has come and gone and i was very lucky and had no damage to my house. i did stay, and rode it out in my nieghbors house so i could get over here as soon as possible to get the generator running for my fish:yes: thanks again.

I lost power for three days becasue of charly. All I did was take a pitcher and move the water around with it about ten times, three times a day. Fish seem to be ok. Can not do a water change yet because of a boil water alert in my area. But I do not have a big fish load. Only four fish and a shrimp, in a 90 gal. I feed them two and a half days into it no t knowing how long I would be without power. And the did eat a few hours after the power came back on. Will be able to do a water change in about a week. So only time will tell if all is well.

Ive had my power off for 5 days. i just got it back on today. For the first 3 days my tank just had a air pump but later my dad bought a generator and hooked the tank up. I had to clean the sump out today because stuff settled in there and turned to amonia. i have a little bit of amonia but Im getting rid of it. Stupid hurricane..........
