I don't think you are going to find out immediately as it is probably going to take a few weeks to see whether or not they suffered from the effects of the cooler water.
I do know when a friend experienced this problem she tried to heat the water too fast and ended up with dead fish and her Chocolate Chip ended up dying as well. I hope you slowly heated the water back up.
After her catastrophe, this is how I ended up with her eel, as the eel was the only thing that managed to survive the cooler water after her kids left the front door open. The door to her house was left open all day while they were at school and she was at work.
