Power Outages

:help: I have a question about how to to handle the pumps in power outages. I have a wet dry system for 165 gallon tank and if the power goes out out the water is not only sucked back to my pump but the exit pipes continue to drain creating a flood. Is there a backup power system that will kick on in case of power outage

I use a computer UPS backup system for my pump and it will work for over an hour of power outage. Can you put a check valve on the output of the pump to keep it from flowing backward? If my return pump stops, no water drains back into the sump, otherwise mine would flood.

drill a small hole just above the water line on the return so when the pump stops it will stop the water flow
