the jbj nano 12 gallon tank come with a border line acceptable pump of only 130gph. most of us have upgraded the pump with a maxi-jet 900 increasing the water flow to 230 gph.
general rule is - min.flow ..? gallons x 12 = .. and max flow is ..? gallons x 20 =...!
tank is rated ( less with rock displacement ) 12 gallons .....so 12x20 = 240 gph ...max
modification is simple , no drilling - cutting - extra replacement parts either.

I have a 12g nanocube and I added a mini-jet 606, it's small but pretty powerful. It pumps 85gph on low, 159 gph on high and I paid under 20.00 for it. With the stock return pump which pumps 106gph plus my mini jet on high, I get awesome flow at 265gph!!
If you want the link to the site I purchased mine fom post your email address. BTW, the cubes don't come with any PH's unless you count the return pump, so if you want corals, polyps, etc, you will need to add one.

i like it a lot and it wasnt that hard to install.
it took maybe 10 minutes to install the hydor and the mj900.
(much less if you're just installing the hydor)
I did have to use super glue gel to hold it in place because one of the attachments didnt fit 100%, but I will still be able to remove it if i want.
