Powerhead placement question

Well, there is water in my tank. Only about half full, as I wanted to get my LR and LS before I put a ton of water in it. My question is this: my tank is 2ftx2ft square. I bought 2 maxijet 1200's. Is this overkill? Too much movement? Also, where do I place them? I have one in right now, and it is just pointing to the other side of the tank, which is causing the water to swirl in a circle because of the shape. What do you suggest? I think I figured it out that the tank is 60gallon.
Thanks..
Jenn

I have bout a 1500 gph turn over rate in my 90. Some think this is a little on the low side. Hope that gives you an idea. As for placement I have one on the left high goig right and another right going left lower than left side. I also have a bio wheel in the center

I have about 1,270 gph flowng through my 55 gallon and I attribute my immaculate water parameters due to this. I can not recommend maximum turnover more than anything else for water quality.
In the 55 gallon I have three 170gph powerheads, two 330 gph hob power filters and a 100gph skimmer. I would get three powerheads for a 55 gallon for sure.

i have 2 aqua clear 30's 175gph a piece and 1 84gph in my 55gallon is this enough you think? My aquaclears, are on the corners pointing down towards the center and my 84 is flowingin the center all aimed at a focal point towards the center so to speak think thats enough? Along with my over the tank Aqua Clear filter which i'm not sure what that flows.

Unfortunately 434gph is inadequate even for a fish only tank of your size. For fish only you will need 550gph. If you have a reef tank you need at least 1,100gph.
If you don't mind how it looks, you can spend around $65 on two hob power filters that will add about 660gph to your tank.
