powerhead question....

ok so i look at all these pics of powerheads...does a powerhead thats magnetic just plug in and pushes out air wherever you place it or does it need a pump???? if not what is a pump used for >>>>thanks

Powerheads don't pump air, they pump water. You put them in your SW tank to create flow.

ok so is there ne thing like the magnetic things i see all the time that you can just put in the tank and plug them in and it creates flow or do you need a sump?????

powerheads can be held on to the wall of your tank by magnet or suction cup. you dont need a sump to have powerheads. a powerhead is a pump that you plug in and it sucks water through one end and blows it out the other end

Can you post a pic of one of the ones you see all the time?
