Powerhead question

I have had my powerheads for around 8-10 years I am guessing....
I clean the impellers when I change my prefilters. (they are 402's)
Just wondered if they loose the "power" after soo many years?
I know you can buy the impellers and replace them, but they dont seem bad....instead of replacing the impellers/shafts should I just replace the whole thing? Hhmmmm any advice?

They may be old; but if it ain't broke, why fix it?? When Katrina hit, I had several Aqua-Clear PH's and HOB filters that had been running non-stop for at least 10 years. But on the other hand, the newer, wide current PHs are really great and the newer PHs are always considerably smaller..........your$$.

Yeah, might as well leave them alone. I just bought a brand-new powerhead for my dads freshwater tank, I will check it out this weekend when I go and see if there is any difference in the newer updated models.
Thanks
