So my question is how many do i need for a 75 gallon (standard 4ft long) tank..??? i have no fish in there yet because been waiting to make sure tank is done cycling..
right now i have this one in there
koralia 3 pump 850 gph
i have this on to move from my 37 gallon bowfront:
CoralVue High Seas 102B
High Output Propeller Driven
PowerHead, 1,250 gph
so another question is placement?? and if i need another one making 3 where to put the 3 in the tank??
thanks
Wade

those two will provide ample turnover for a 75 gallon
put one on either side of the tank facing eachother
I'd point the 1250 straight across the tank, towards the bottom just high enough it doesn't blow sand everywhere and the 850 across from it pointing at the surface in the middle of the tank
if you get dead spots you may have to adjust them a little
if you decide to get another head a K1 or K2 would be plenty

Everyone is different...everyone has an opinion...here is just my way, as long as there are no dead spots without flow it is the right way...

I had 4 power heads in my 75g. Koralias...1 #4, 2 #3s and 1 #2. I placed two on each side of the tank one high and one low not directly across from another but staggered. My corals had to be well glued but they were happy and no dead spots. There were certain areas with gentle flow...some corals and feather dusters liked things a little calmer.

No dead spots. The return flowed behind. Those guys shot enough water off the front glass that it creates more flow in the middle

i think you have eneough powerheads but need to put one on the side half way down for a cross flow in front of the rocks.

I allow some natural algae to grow so my biColor and kole tang can graze during the day. I have a 150 now. I have it set up almost the same. It doesnt get out control.
