I have a maxi jet 750 submersible pump attached to a powerhead quick filter (hagen) and every so often (every 2-3 min) it blows small bubbles like one larger bubble found its way to the impeller and got broken up on its way out. It has been doing it for a while.... recently I pulled the filter out to rinse the filter medium and noticed that the pump had developed a "resivoir" of air that when tilted the right direction, came out. What causes this air build up on a submerged pump/filter???
