Powerhead too Low?

I have a powerhead about 10 inches from the bottom of my tank. I am planning on adding some sand through a piece of PVC to make about a 1 inch sand bed.
My question is, is this powerhead going to disrupt the sand bed. It is a Maxi Jet 1200 if that makes a difference. Should it be moved up some more?

I had to move my 1200's to about 1/2 way up the tank, they were stirring up the sand.
Just watch and see what happens........

initially, I had a PW about 6" above my sandbed. It made a little pit where the current hit the front of the glas and deflected down to the sandbed, but other than that, no problems.
