powerhead with air pump?

Is it okay to hook my power head up to a small air pump to get a strong blast of air flow in my tank? It seems to blow with alot more force that way I was just wondering if this is alright.I am not really very experienced and don't know much about power heads. I bought an AquaClear and there didn't seem to be a whole lot of information in the box with it.

in my oppinon u dont want air buble in water it makes alot of salt buildup outside the tank and i think fish can get popeye from it not sure about popeye maybe someone else can comment on it
