Powerhead

I have a 55 gal with the 500gph pump. it is in the middle of the tank facing the front lsightly down so it makes a V with its flow. I am trying to decide between 2 smaller powerheads on each end of tank in the same direction or 1 big 1 at a side shooting directly down the back of the tank. yes i have some recent Cyano problems. any suggestions?

I just did a post on some findings with these. I probably wouldnt buy a one if I had it to do over a again. I havea 1 and a 3 and a ecomod mj 400. The mj is too much for my 65 but the 3 is great. I would go with 2 koralia 2's. But thats just my opinion.I am using a 3 shooting across the tank and a k 1 kinda blowing on the rockwork. Seems to be pretty good. Gets kinda ofa cross current.

I have two Koralia 3s in my 75G tank. They are really good but their flow really tapers off after about 1.5 ft. or so. A 55G is the same length as a 75G so I would go with two Koralia 3s.

I agree, I have two Koralia 1's and they are ok but not great, you need the #2 or #3 pumps in such a big tank.
