looking at a pair of power sweeps for my 55 gal FO, one in each corner in the back, but i'm not sure what sizes to go with can i get some advice?
model # 212 - 125 gph
214 - 160 gph
226 - 190 gph
228 - 270 gph

Depends on what you plan to keep, though many would say to turn the water as much as you can afford.

i currently have 4 yellowtail damsels and 2 ocellaris clowns, and getting either a yellow tang or a flame angel. and of course, cleanup crew

Go with the 228's. These have flow adjustment, so if you think you are pushing too much water you can turn it down a little. I have a 212 that I can only turn down about half or it won't sweep. Other than that, no complaints. Even at full throttle I would say that it's not too much. I posted a thread about flow and got answers from 8X/hr to 20X/hr! HTH

I would strong consider not getting a yellow tang for a 55 Gal tank. Just not enuf Room for him.

I would go with two 228 thats what i use in my 55 gal FOWLR and they work just fine. I had the 2 214's and it just was'nt enough, I'm now using the 214's on my 46 gal. bow-front. HTH <img src="graemlins//silly.gif" border="0" alt="[silly]" />
