I used to do the crazy stuff in my pre gimp days. Ever load a 25 cf side by side frige in a pickup alone, for someone else, while they stood and argued with the ex?
I helped move a cast iron tub once, not something I would do again if I could help it/

1 1/2 tubes of silicone. All from the back side before it's slid into place. The seams overlap about 2 inches. As for the water lines the pex tubing was fast and simple, anyone could do it! It took way less time than the few pieces of copper I had to do!

So how hard is it to take out the old "insert" bath? Compared to standard bath and tile type? Curious because I will need to do a bath reno in the future.

My reno was on a roughed in bathroom not an existing one so, it was a little easier. In my last house- a total reno- I did remove the tub and drywall down to the studs. It really wasn't hard but it was alot of work. Not sure about your "insert" but my 3 piece is only attached by the plumbing and screws on the front edges.
