Pretty sure if you pressure wash the live rock, you will end up with dead rock. Two problems the first being the extreme pressure the second being fresh water. If you don't care about killing the bacteria and such and you just want clean rock I would say go for it.

I would highly advise against it unless you want all base rock that you will reseed. Find out WHY you have hair algae to begin with. Correct that or it will keep growing.

Why don't you get yourself a scrub brush from the Dollar Store, and remove the rock from the tank, scrub it in a 5 gallon bucket (mixed with salt) then place it back in the tank.

Sep: What things could be causing his out break of hair algae? I have some as well but not all over my rocks and all but would also like to know what it is I need to test for to remove it in the water and I was going to just use a toothbrush to scrub off the stuff that is on my rocks.

A number of things could be causing your algae problem. I am sure Sep
will give you a more comprehensive list. For starters though you should consider. Your nitrates might be too high, your phosphates may be too high (.03 or less is the goal), your lighting has recently been replaced or perhaps your bulbs are so old that the spectrum of light has shifted, fueling algae growth.

no I havent treated it for anything except with "no sick fish". I also have a UV light running for my tank as well and it is a 24watt model.
