The Princess Parrotfish is an attractive fish but in a reef tank there are some exceptions. The maximum length of this fish can get to around 13", so it is going to take a fairly large tank (135 gal). It likes fresh chopped or frozen seafoods, flake food, frozen foods for herbivores, etc. This fish should not be kept with stony corals, as it has a tendency to "rasp" on them. (nibbling algae etc off of them) It needs micro algae to help survive. beautiful fish, just not great with a reef system. (information gathered from "Marine Fishes" by Scott W. Michael

I had one for a few years, gave him to a friend with a 300+ gallon tank. They get big! I had mine in a 180 and he out grew it in 3 years. One of the most beautiful fish I have owned. Mine was in a fowlr tank, read up on them, they will eat sps.

Parrotfish in general can be a real challenge to keep, and would encourage a lot of deep thinking before purchasing one. And it is real important to consider outlaw60's comment about size.

Have one in my reef and it does nip at stuff mainly at rock. I think it is very easy fish to keep. Mine eats pretty much whatever you put in, frozen,flake,pellet, live. It has not eaten any coral, but not to say that it is totally reef safe. It is a really cool fish.

There was a documentary on discovery channel that shows them DESTROYING sps and then pooping it out like sand.
I've seen them while scuba diving in Jamaica and Bermuda,and Big is not the word
