It is by choice of the owner/administrater of this site. It has to my knowledge never been a part of this message board and will never be "corrected".
This has been brought up several times, and trust me when I say its not open for discussion.
However, Many folks do exchange email addys for the purpose of taking a sale in private or for some other purposes.
