Prizm dimensions ?

Does anyone have the dimensions for the Prizm protein skimmer.
I know it doesn't take up much room behind the tank and wall, but I would like to know length and width.
Also, for those of you that use this device, what are your personal opinions?
Thanks,
Brian

Well it's larger than you'd think. 9 1/4"W x 13 3/4"H. I love my Prizm. Some say it's a little noisy, but I have had no problem with the noise. --Bob

P.S. In case you haven't heard, I am The Prizm Queen, so called for my advocation of this super scum suckin' little dude!! A great little skimmer for small tanks, nothing over 55, IMHO.

thanks Hermit,
Still a little too big for what I am planning. You can probably guess ....

I would question the statement about not over a 55. The Prism is rated up to 90, mine is on my 58 reef and does a great job. I was doubtful till I saw one in operation at my lfs, and was even more pleased when I got mine (69 bucks mail ordered) versus the 90 my lfs wanted.

I, QUEEN of the Prizm, bows humbly before the shark! :D
I had mine on a 125!!
The reason for my statement is that after 6 months of use, IMHO the flow rate of this wonderful device is just too low for bigger tanks. But by no means does the capacity for skimming diminish. To skim effectively my valve can be no more open than 1/4", and that makes the flow rate for me way too slow for my bigger tank. But it is perfection on my 40/reef.
Just my humble .02

Hey broomer, size doesn't matter. Wait that's a different topic. LOL Anyways, the point is if the tank is 24" tall, what differece does it make how tall the skimmer is. It's a matter of how well the skimmer works, and IMO, for a smaller tank, this skimmer rocks!! For the price, you can't beat it. Just a thought. --Bob

Bobber,
I got a great deal on some pc lighting ( free ) that will fit a 10 gallon tank.
I'm going against most recommendations, and putting together a 10 gal nano reef with left over equipment from my other two tanks. I am considering a protein skimmer vs. weekly water changes.
So far I got about $8.00 bucks in the system LOL.
Thanks everyone ;)

Ok...so here's my related question, now that I see the conflicting opinions about tanks size and the Prizm.
I'm setting up a 70-gallon reef tank. Bought it used, and it came with a SeaClone (everyone groans...I can hear you) skimmer rated up to 100 gallons and another filter (something by Top Fin that uses those biobags). They were used about 2 years. I got a pretty good deal on all of the stuff (also came with the stand, test kits still in date, etc.) so I was planning to upgrade the skimmer and filter if necessary.
So, is the prizm too small for a 70-gallon tank? Also, any opinions on Aqua Clear products? Any recommendations?
I've got cycled live rock ready to put in the tank, but I want the set-up to be complete first. Thanks!

I would go with a RemoraPro on that size tank. I have the prizm on my 72, and I am unimpressed.
And it is a noisy little dirt devil! LOL
Sorry Prizm Queen ;)
Any new hang-ons out there that don't have enough noise to wake the dead?
