Prizm skimmer

I see a lot of people like their Prizm skimmers. I have a question for you. Will mine ever quit pouring bubbles into my tank? It skims great, but the bubbles drive me nuts. I've been told it can take a long time to break in, but it's been 14 days.

You have either of two problems. You may have the water intake valve open to much. If it is brand new you shoulf keep it fully closed. Another problem could be if you use a slime coat product like stress coat.

Hello,
For the first day or so mine still produced a few bubbles even when I had it at the full off position. After that it worked fine and still is some 2 months later. Make sure you have read the instructions correctly, it is possible that you may have missed a small step. I have a little problem moving the rubber tube from the first position fast enough to the 2nd position, by then the air bubbles start declining fast sometimes. If it doesn't seem to be working right after a day or two start the process over again. Hope it is working better by now.

You may want to give it a nice warm bath with soap. Just BE SURE to completely rinse it out so you dont introduce the soap into your tank. I dont know about bubbles (that should be fixed by reducing your intake valve) but the instructions recommend a washing to remove algae.
