i have just added 3 green chromis into my 29g tank to cycle it. i also have 27lbs of LR and LS. the chromis have not eaten yet, but are very active in the tank. however, they have stayed in the upper 5 inches of the tank the entire time. they have been in the tank for 16 hours. is this strange that they stay in the top of the tank? should i be worried yet that they have not yet eaten?

Chromis usually stays on the upper half of the tank. They're not the type of fish that goes in and out of rocks. What a bit more and they'll eat. They're just trying to get used to their new home.

Hey,
Some fish take DAYS before they begin to eat. Don't worry if it's only been hours. Offer a little food each day but don't just let it sink to the bottom uneaten. They should eat everything in 2-3 minutes, if not it's just waste building up in your tank.
