Problem with canopy warping

Has anyone had this problem. I have a 180g and this is my second canopy after I took the first one back because it warped. Now I can see signs of the new one warping. I don't have a glass cover over the tank. Maybe the water is soaking in at night when the lights are off. Should I get a glass cover?

sounds like wherever you bought it from did not do a good job or is using the wrong materials for the canopy; what is it made out of? is treated at all w/ special paint or primer?

I bought if from *****. It looks like it has been stained with water repelent, but yet it still warps. I'll wait a bit and see.

hey, my canopy warped before when lighting got too hot. it warped with the center going up, and i had to use 3 phonebook to even it out. At first i thought it was the bad paint causing it to warp, then i experimented with and without fan when lights on. just wondering what type of lighting you have and if you have fan blowing into it. good luck.

I have 4 160w VHOs. No fans right now. The first one warped without any lighting. The top is fine, but it's the side that looks liked they turning inside-out.

well w/ *****, customer service seems to vary form store to store...I'd return it or get store credit & build one for yourself...much much cheaper
