Hi Everyone... so I have been noticing that with my skimmer... it I close the air valve there is still some air bubbles in the chamber... not to many but there are some which made me think there is a leak. Also, I never get any foam... I get water with air bubbles in the cylinder.. but never that dry goopy foam I see on everyones skimmers. I have had this skimmer running about 2-3 weeks now and it really hasnt produced anything. I am using the suggested pump, etc. I went to the MRC website and emailed them. They responded and asked for a picture of the unit. After I sent them a picture, this was their response.
"Jeff,

You need to update your injector assembly. The “new” style is completely air tight, whereas your model is not. "
Im confused now..One of the reasons I bought the MRC because I have heard wonderful things about their customer services. I dont know if they want me to buy a new part? It sounds as if they have designed a better part then what was sold and the one I have is inferior? Has anyone else had this issue?

hmmm...I'm not farmiliar with these skimmers but I'm wondering if there is a leak in your injector assembly then maybe it's not producing the fine micro bubbles like it needs too. Maybe someone else will chime in on this but in the mean time I'd be looking into the newer injector.

I just bought it used.. the guy who had it before said he has only had it a little more than a year, he sold his tank and everything. I dont know, just kind of makes me upset.. If I bought a car, and they discovered a part was bad, or mad a better one, they would do a recall and have it replaced. Just doesnt seem like something I should have to buy?

Ok... well if anyone is interested... I didnt get anywhere from talking with someone names Raj and MRC through email. (Althought he did see a photo and point out that I needed to buy the "New style injector because the one I have is not air tight" I decided to try to fix this myself.. I found where the injector was not air tight... Some acrylic superglue, teflon tape, new connectors and some gorilla glue tape... and BOOMMM its like a new skimmer! Now I actually can hear that shaking some said these beckets make! I am actually going to take that out tomm and glue it together as many have mentioned. The skimmer is now producing foam (which it never did, just bubbly water) althought it is clear foam, I am not expecting it to be long to be dirty!
