problem with new coral beauty in Q-tank

I brought my new coral beauty home from the LFS last sunday night. I had the Q-tank set up, cycled and ready to go. He seems to be doing fine but he has not eaten much at all yet. I saw him eat at the LFS before i brought him home, so i don't think it is cyinide poising. I had a coral beauty for over three years and he recently died, i love them so much i really wanted another one. Anyway, i don't remember my first one being so reluctent to feed in the beginning. Is this normal after first being introduced to a new tank? I have him in a 10g Q-tank with a false perc witch i also got last sunday, hes doing fine, (eating like a pig). I added 3 cups of substrate from my main tank to jump start the bacteria poulation over three weeks ago. I also used a filter cartrage from another up and running tank for more biological support. all test readings look good for a Q-tank:
Ammonia=0
nitrite=0
nitrate=0
pH=8.3
salinity=1.009(hypo)
Ive been offering flake, formula two, brine shrimp soaked in garlic and even a piece of nori (in very small amounts alternating each at feeding) My next thing to try will be live brine shrimp.
Any other ideas on what could be going on??
thanks

Its not unusal for fish to fast when we first put them in the tank. Do you have hiding spots in your QT?
You could go ahead and do hypo on the tank.....lower salinity tends significantly improve fish appetities.
Keep an eye on the situation and see if the fish actually develops an illness. With such a small QT, it was probably not the best thing to do to put 2 fish in the same QT at once. Hopefully they will get along for the duration.

This tank is already in HYPO? Did you add the beauty from the LFS to the hypo tank? As I understand, fish need to go in to hypo very slowly... like days I think. How did you aclimate the beauty?

Beth, i do have 8 or 9 pieces of different shaped pieces of PVC in the tank for them to hide in and around. I added both fish thinking these two fish would get along fine in small quaters and so far so good. Both of them seem to not even know the other is there. Hopefully this behavior will continue.
sheracr123, i acclimated her slowly to the tank (salinity was about 1.022) the prosess took about 1-1/2 hrs. I started the hypo treatment on monday night and completed it yestreday afternoon. It will take 4-5 days to bring it back up to 1.025 after the four week treatment is done.
Beth, do you think tring live brine shrimp is a good idea or should stick with the foods i mentioned eariler?
thanks

Healthy fish will rarely turn down live brine. Thus definately I would try it.
