Problems with my elegance coral

I bought this elegance a few weeks ago and it took 2 days for it to open and look great. The past 3 days it shrunk up and stayed that way all day. It seems to be excreting slime off of it and there was a spot where it looked like its skeleton had a chip out of the one top rib. It is placed on the bottom of the tank with 2 x 250 watt halides and lower flow. The numbers are as follows:
SG 1.026
PH 8.4
PHOS 2.0
Trite 0
Trate 0
Cal 440
I have about 20 other corals in there and nothing else is affected.
The only thing I added since then was a Sohal tang and I never seen him pick on it.

what was the lighting of the tank you get if from? It might just be getting used to your tank.
That looks like a indo-pacific to me,Get it out of direct light ASAP and put it in a fully shaded area. Its gonna develope slime every day,so your going to need to slightly blow it off with a baster. Its probably gonna swell up too and you have about a 50/50 chance at best for it to survive. You may want to try a iodine dip as well to prevent infection if it isnt already.Indos dont do well under Direct MH lighting
Good luck.

DING DING DING We have a winner.
. I moved it today after I read your message and it started opening within 30 minutes. It just had me baffled because it looked so good 2 days after i got it with no problems. I will hope for the best from here on out.
Do you have an idea why the skeleton was chipped in 2 spots? Did it expand too much and crack itself?
Thanks for the help
