Problems with my tank

Hello all
I am having some problems with my tank.
i already figured out that i have too many fish for my tank.
i have a 29 gallon
4 tangs
2clowns
2dasmels
1blemi
i dont have a problem with the fish only the the fact is that they bring my water quality down. which is now affecting my corals...
i had a leather coral for about 6 months and just last week it started to disolve i have also started to see the other corals not opening up fully and the colors change.. i belive that it has to do with my water.
i cant get my water to be stabile and i have done 10% water changes... my ph droped to 7.8
i have traces of ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, my alk is med-to high...
i have a fuval 204 on it and a power bio filter
i wanted to know if i should hook up another fuval to the tank in order to keep up with the water quality...
what filter is best and how can i hook it up for a good price?
I was thinking maybe i should buy a wet/dry... but im not sure
or maybe a denitrator. Please let me know what i sould buy so i dont waste money on the something that wont work...
should i also add more crush coral in order to bring up the ph?

how much LR/LS do you have? don't waste your money on a wet/dry. I had mine for about six months and pulled all the bio balls out and now use as a sump. should have just bought a ten gallon tank, or bucket for that matter. If you really wanted to I would reccomend replacing the CC with live sand. CC has holes for Na to hide in plus LS has critters that will denitrafy the water

Sorry to change the subject a little , but 4 tangs in a 29 gallon. You need to do something about that. They need lots of room to swim, and with four in a tank that small ick will be around. I would see if you could get abigger tank, or find new homes for some of the tangs. I had a large sailfin, and a large hippo,in a 55. I just got rid of the hippo,so the sailfin could have more room, just my two cents

Way too many fish for a 29. Or a 55 for that matter. Give away 2 tangs and follow jamesurq suggestions.
IMMEDIATELY put in polyfilters and do a large water change (30%).
DO NOT ADD BIO-BALLS.
Start kalkwasser. It will help your ph and alk.
Slowly get rid of the crushed coral and replace it with aragonite.
Do you have a skimmer? If not, buy a aqua-C remorma or similar ASAP. you have a HUGE bioload in a small tank with little bio filtration.
I would also get a pre-filter and a sump. This will aid in keeping film off the top of the water, and provide a very convenient place to set up a refugium or to put the polyfilters.
Good luck, take action!

i dont know if i should use the sand its seem that the filter i have would create a mess with the sand
how do i set a slump
if i was to buy a 10 or 20 gallon how do i make it a slump with the 29 gallon
i know i should get rid of the tangs althought i do like them a lot. could i sell the tangs.. i had them for a couple of years and they got big how much can i sell the hippo, yellow, soho, and powder.
i was thinking about hooking up another fuval to the tank and having the water run throught both filters before it returns to the tank
or should i just buy a wet/dry.

Sounds like a over stocked/poor water quality/limited filtration problem....lots of problems. Maybe a refresher course on how to set-up a reef system is the best action at this point(should be first step to establishing a reef...but better late than never)...check out this link ...or maybe this link ...both are full of basic information that will help correct problems that you have with your system.

I dont' know why everyone is telling you to get new equipment...Lack of equipment isn't the problem...What you have seems fine for a NORMAL 29' gallon tank. Your fishload is the problem....No offense but that is ridiculous....If you had alot of small fish, it might be a different story, but those are fairly large fish that shouldn't be in that take by themselves, let alone with others.......Forget buying another filter, don't bother...Take all of the tangs out and replace it with a dwarf angel or something and your ammonia, nitrites, nitrates will drop tremendously.......Take the fish back to the LFS a.s.a.p......
