problems with pump

Help....
I have just set up my pump....panworld
but i cant get it to siphon the water from the sump....
this is an external pump.....
please help

Get a ball valve and connect it right to the end of the pump. Disconnect it and the rest of your plumbing from the pump, (OVER A TOWEL) siphon the water manually into the plumbing. Once it gets to the ball valve, close it and reconnect your pump. Then turn it on and you should be all set. Its messy I know but its the best I can think of.
