Problems

:help: I've got problems! I was reading in other threads that my tank would do better with a little more temperature. The tank was running steady at 78.8 to 79.2 and I've raised it to 81 and now a pair of clowns that I've had since I've set my tank up are now doing very poorly. They were up swimming when I left to go shopping and when I came home they were both on the bottem of the tank not swimming at all. I've never seen them do this in the 9 months or so that I've had them. I quickly checked my sg and it was at 1.024 and my temp. was at 81.0. I've changed nothing other than the temp. and removing my glass tops. I read that the tops would limit light so I removed them. Any help would be great. And the sooner the better. :help:

I raised the temp. over a half day period. Do you think their just lathargic from less oxygen in the tank?

as stated above less oxygen with warmer watter need to increase say a rippling afect on top of the watter with a power head to insure enough gas exchange in the warmer watter plus could add an air pump to help this out as well
the same thing happend to me I raised my temp up within a few days and one of my triggers and my puffer where on the bottom breathing hard four hours after I added an air pump they were up and swimming very activly

A air pump will just cause salt creeps... the gas exchange should improve greatly with the removal of the glass tops!! Do make sure your surface water is agitated well... give them some time, a 2-3 degree increase shouldn't be a major problem. Hopefully they will pull out of it soon.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've got a spare pump laying around, I'll try putting it in. Also I placed one of my power heads closer to the surface to aggitate the water.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have a look at everything in the morning. Wish me luck, or should say wish them luck. They should be ok I hope.

I found that salt creep will hapen when the bubbles are to small when I first started set up the finer bubbles and got salt creap like reef nut said but adjusted it so that the air bubles are much bigger and now no salt creep good looking out nut forgot to mention need bigger bubles to keep that from hapening
