Hmm, interesting project... I can't think of an easy or safe way to extract poison from fish or inverts. How about a cucumber? You might have to sacrifice it though.

A lion would probly be the easiest. I don't know how you'd go about doing it though. I wouldn't mess with the octo, that thing can kill you.

A cukecumber might work since its an invertebrete, but i was looking for more of a direct toxin and means on extracting it.

Stonefish will release its venom through pressure if you're brave enough to try it.

Thanks for the help, where would i be able to obtain a stonefish?
And what gallon tank would it need to be comfortable for a few weeks?

Also note that a cukecumber pioson is not concentrated/strong enough to have the effect im looking for on the cultured cells.
The stonefish however is a great idea but again would like to nko how to extract it as well as buy it.

+1 That's a real display of craziness right there or messing with bluerings because most people that get hit by a bluering never even feel the bite.

I'd use the public aquarium tank&their fish and not get that thing close to me anymore than necessary LOL..
Artificial respirator and epipens work to counter bluering venom until the paralysis wears off.

This could be a very dangerous project. If you are going to do this, you might consider contacting the local aquarium and see if they have samples of the venom and can let you watch while it is extracted rather than you doing it yourself. Some of the animals that you named can kill you pretty easily. You might be able to do the stonefish if you wear some heavy gloves.

I have seen stonefish at a LFS near BWI airport. Depending on were you are in Pennsylvania, it may be worth your trip. The store is not far from Baltimore.

No aquarium is going to give away venom to some college student because of liability issues. If this project is legit, you're professor should be able to help you get a sample. Something tells me this project involves fraternity and hazing though ;)
