proper diet

I did a search on preventing disease and quarantining and have been left with a couple of questions. First, how can find out what the proper diet for each specific fish is? I noticed that proper diet was listed as being vital. I currently feed my fish OSI flakes daily and zooplankton, silversides & shrimp weekly.
Also, I noticed that romaine lettuce was often listed as being a step toward cure. Was that just for tangs? Thanks for the help.

Agreed,
I will find that my fish will eat only some of what is listed as thier diet, but can also be trained to accept other varieties of food. I myself have mentioned the Romain lettuce for tangs, but this isn't a nutritious diet alone. Do research on what they eat and depending on the fish he/she will let you know what food is acceptable.
In the same token when you look at the size of the fish's mouth that will give you an idea into what he can or can't eat.
My idea was big mouth larger food, small mouth smaller food.
