proper lighting for fluval spec (2 gal)

can this tank even be used as a nano and if so what kind of lighting would be required? is there something superior in the same price range?

A PAR38 LED light bulb would work for just about anything that you would ever want to keep in it.
There are people who have had that small of an aquarium before - even SPS reef tanks. There is a thread on RC about the "3g Vase" that I think you might be interested in.

i ended up getting the edge, 6gal... have any suggestions for that? lol...any idea if i need another power head and if so, what kind/how much power?

One par38 bulb is good for up to 10g.
A 6g should have 120gph turnover at the very least.
