Protein Skimmer Help - hurry please

Right now, I don't have a protein skimmer. I have the chance to buy one today, and only today for a real good price, but I don't know much about them (I have just started my sw experience.) Anyway, what is a venturi type protein skimmer? And, what are the pros and cons of it. By the way, I will use it in my sump. Thanks

Venturi is the way the water and air are mixed together. the water is forced past an air inlet, and sucks air bubbles into the skimmer. It depends on what type of skimmer you are talking about. I have a berlin, and I love it. I have read that seaclones don't perform well. what brand/model of skimmer is it? some just seem to do better than others. Also, what size tank is it going on?
