Protein skimmer question

I am a new member and new saltwater aquarist! I have a 70G tank that is into its third week of cycling. I just bought a ProClear 350 protein skimmer with CA4000 pump. The pump vibrates sooo loud and its driving me crazy. The pet store I bought it from did not recommend me buying a new pump but told me to put a filter underneath or a phosphate pad to lesson the noise. I tried both with no luck. Can anyone suggust a different pump that would work well with this skimmer? Thanks!

Check your water level, make sure your pump is not getting to much air and you are not getting cavitations
