protein skimmer

If I'm using live sand, live rocks and 2 powerheads do I need a protein skimmer? If so for what?

I thinking about a 40 gal FOWLR and LS what would you recomend for a quality "cheapest" skimmer?

well i got a read sea prizm thar seams to work well. i piad 79 dollars for it at my lfs. people say that the seaclones are not that good and others say it is.

I got an Aqua C remora Pro HOB for 275$...and it kicks butt....just my 2 cents.......:jumping:
